What is Picacho Peak?

Picacho Peak is a 1500 foot tall eroded lava flow conveniently located along Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson in the state of Arizona. There is much history and many myths associated with the peak, including its use as a landmark by Native Americans and early European explorers and the site of the most significant Civil War battle in Arizona.
